This recipe is for a delightful Matcha Tiramisu that combines the flavors of green tea and creamy mascarpone cheese in a unique and delicious dessert. This recipe serves 6-8 people.
Ingredients:
- 4 large egg folks
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup (150 ml) whole milk
- 8oz (225g) mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp (10g) Shinrin Tea Matcha powder
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) hot water
- 1 package (7 oz/200 g) ladyfingers (savoiardi biscuits)
- Cocoa powder for dusting
method:
- In a heatproof bowl, whisk the egg folks and sugar until well combined.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over low heat until it begins to simmer.
- Gradually pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
- Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
- In a large bowl, whisk the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone cheese until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk the matcha green tea powder and hot water together until smooth.
- Dip each ladyfinger into the matcha mixture, turning it over to coat both sides.
- Arrange the ladyfingers in a single layer in a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Dip the remaining ladyfingers into the matcha mixture and arrange them on top of the mascarpone mixture.
- Spread the remaining mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
