Welcome to Shinrin Tea

Starting a Bubble Tea shop in Rotterdam, we became obsessed with creating delicious Matcha beverages. This passion led us to Japan, where we discovered world-renowned Matcha and Matcha-infused dishes, eventually finding a farm in Shizuoka that now produces our Matcha. Customers began asking to purchase our Matcha after trying it in our bubble tea. Thanks to our close connections, we can now offer high-quality Matcha at an affordable price, aiming to make the benefits of Matcha accessible to everyone.

What is Matcha?

Matcha was traditionally cultivated and consumed by Chinese and Japanese monks. It aided them in their meditation, enhancing focus and energy – a practice relevant even in our modern lives. Matcha not only provides a caffeine boost but also amino acids, nutrients, and chlorophyll. It offers the energizing effects of coffee without the downsides.

Why our Matcha is special

Our tea comes from the prefecture of Shizuoka, specifically the mountainous Honyama region. The shape of this area helps to produce a temperature difference and therefore foggy conditions. The fog decreases the amount of sunlight the plants receive, this gives them a subtleness and strong umami desired in great quality matcha. Adding to this you will be drinking the same matcha that a famous Japanese Shogun (Emperor) Ieyasu Tokukawa loved.
